Sir Isaac Newton was a mathematician and physicist born in Lincolnshire, England. In the world of mathematics, he is known best for his contributions to calculus, particularly the idea that differentiation and integration are inverses of each other. He wrote the Mathematical Principals of Natural Philosophy in 1687, a highly respected book of his day. In it, he wrote about his laws of motion and gravitation.
